01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

A set of udon with a mini seafood bowl is a welcome choice when you fancy both noodles and seafood. One diner who compared kake udon with bukkake udon at lunch described the kake broth as fragrant with fish, with a sweet flavour. The same mini seafood bowl can also accompany meat broth dipping udon, a set served with noodles and a Japanese-style dashi dipping broth containing meat and vegetables. A diner enjoyed how the broth complemented the udon, which was soft yet pleasantly chewy.

Some diners have noted that the seafood bowl is an easy-to-eat, rice-bowl-sized portion. One reported lunch combination included marinated tuna, squid and minced tuna. The menu also lists marinated tuna rice bowls served with udon, so you can make noodles the focus or enjoy them alongside a bowl.

In the evening, choose from small seafood dishes, with sashimi and sushi at the centre of the selection. The assorted sashimi is listed with examples such as bluefin tuna and white fish, and the menu also includes five pieces of chef's-choice sushi. Add a dish such as raw oyster, cured mackerel or simmered conger eel to enjoy a little at a time.

Several sake labels from different regions are listed, and one diner who enjoyed them with seafood also found the udon at the end of the meal memorable. From udon sets at lunch to seafood and sake in the evening, Wakou offers different ways to dine depending on what you feel like eating.
